Permits and Registration
Aliens may need a residence permit to work in Denmark, according to the rules specified in the Danish Aliens Act.

Work and residence permits may be grantedto individuals intending to take paid or unpaid work, as well as to the self-employed.

The application for residence permit can be processed after the client's settlement in Denmark. The presence of the employee is requested only when the application is lodged, but the card will be forwarded directly by the authorities to the applicant.

Time for processing the application for Residence Permit is approximately 2 weeks.

Gateway to Denmark offers the fastest procedure for obtaining work and residence permit for non-EU citizens. In most cases the application must be submitted to the Royal Danish Embassy or Consulate in your home country. But we will inform the embassy about your application in advance and follow it closely to speed up the process with the Danish Immigration Service. In some cases the application can be lodged directly with the Immigration Service in Copenhagen, when you are visiting Denmark. Response to the application for a residence or work permit can normally be expected within an average of 1-2 months.

We prepare the necessary documents in co-operation with the employer and advise on the procedure. On arrival we are ready to escort you to the meet with the Immigration Service, thus we cut down the application procedure to a minimum of time and bureaucracy.
